Submissions

Guidelines:

Gulf Stream accepts submissions of fiction (flash and short stories), non-fiction, poetry, artwork and graphic narratives. Visit our Submittable page for specific guidelines and format.

Submissions must be previously unpublished. You may submit work in multiple genres, but use separate submissions for each genre and limit your submissions to one per genre. Please do not submit additional work in a single reading period before hearing back from us about your first submission. We do accept simultaneous submissions but must be notified immediately if the work is published elsewhere.

Please submit only once per submission cycle.

We cannot accept work submitted by current or former students (undergraduate or graduate) of Florida International University

Reading Period
We read submissions from September 1st to November 1st and January 1st through March 1st. Please only send work during these reading periods.

Copyright Info
We hold first serial rights for the material we publish, with the copyright reverting back to the author upon publication.

We DO NOT accept submissions by mail or email. Mailed submissions will be recycled and emailed submissions will be deleted without notification.

Interviews and Book Reviews
Any requests regarding interviews or books reviews must be sent through email as a query letter. Gulf Stream only reviews first books.
